Configuring Nifi on Windows:

Dear All, in this post I am planning to show how to setup Nifi in 3 easy steps on windows:

Download Hortonworks DataFlow: http://hortonworks.com/downloads/#sandbox and unzip it.

Steps to configure Nifi:

    1.       Open: Conf à nifi.properties file and update with

     a)      nifi.ui.banner.text =  your own banner for eg: Hello its A-ZHaoop Nifi!

     b)      nifi.web.http.port = change port number 8080 to 9090 to avoid conflict with Ambari only if      

           Ambari is up and running with the same port and with same host name.     

     c)      nifi.sensitive.props.key = provide your key if it not available then provide some text ‘mysecretkey’.

 

    2.       Now open a command prompt on your windows machine go to nifi bin directory (for example: D:\Hadoop\Hortonworks\Nifi\HDF-1.2.0.1-1\nifi\bin) and run “run-nifi.bat” as shown below:

     3.       Open internet browser and connect to nifi link : http://localhost:9090/ and then you will be prompted to click on “/nifi”
